Top Eleven of Twenty-Eleven {Family Style}

Here it is! The post you’ve all been waiting for…it’s our top eleven of twenty-eleven featuring all my favorites from family, baby, and senior sessions shot this past year. To vote for your favorite, leave a comment with your choice for the number one pic of 2011. The winner will receive a 20 x 24 canvas of the image chosen! Read below for a brief explanation of why the following images were chosen. The rules are as follows: you may only vote once (I can see if you’re just using the same computer and voting multiple times). Votes will be tallied Friday morning at 10:00 am, and the winner will be announced shortly after. Happy voting!!

1) This image was taken at a tea party that I shot back in March. The child featured in this image is part of a family that is currently trying to adopt a child from Rwanda. They are passionately involved in African missions, and this image speaks to that.

2) What more can I say about this image? This is the moment this mother and father saw their child for the first time. I was blessed to be a part of this birth.

3) There is something almost magical about this portrait. This senior portrait was taken at the Texas State Fair back in October. Right before this image was taken, the wind picked up creating this etherial vibe to the photograph.

4) One word: hilarious! It just doesn’t get funnier than this.

5) I love the pensive look on this little one’s face. I also love the way her hand is just barely clasping dad’s finger. I love the posture, her eyes, the way their shadows play against the wood. Everything about this image is just lovely and bright.

6) Can we say thunder thighs? And that hat….it’s just too much. This picture is truly awesome. I love the way his hat is just a wee bit too small and how his eyes are peering out beneath it. 7) I took this image when I was a few weeks away from delivering Vera. This senior is majoring in musical theater and I felt this picture captured that without being “themey”. All the texture adds so much to this image, not to mention the symbolism of the school bus. Love it!

8 ) To me, this image represents the true joy of building a family. I just recently found out this cute little couple is expecting their third! They make cute kiddos, for sure.

9) How can you not love this image? Of course, he’s going to hate me when his mother uses this image in his senior slide show. The vintage toys shown belonged to his mother. oh nostalgia!10) Four children under the age of three pictured with their mother. Doesn’t every mother want a picture like this with her kids? BEAUTIFUL.

11) There is nothing more peaceful than a sleeping child. This sweet mother has been through so much this year, but in the midst of this storm, she has been blessed with this beautiful baby girl.

Leslie and Craig {Downtown Grapevine Couple Session}

I’m am so excited for you to see this awesome couple session that I took in Downtown Grapevine! Leslie and Craig were so cute….they acted like a pair of newlyweds the whole time (although I’m pretty sure they’ve been married for over 20 years)! At one point, we actually had an onlooker say, “How cute!” to which Craig responded, “We’re getting married!” I just loved how much we laughed during this session. It was so much fun, it hardly felt like work at all! I especially love the series of pictures by the trains. Those were taken at the end of the session, and clearly Leslie and Craig had really loosened up. Please let me know what you think of this adorable couple!

Will and Grant {Searcy Newborn Twins Photographer}

What a treat I have for you! A few weeks ago while I was in Searcy, Arkansas hosting a beginners’ photography workshop, I had the blessing of being able to capture twin boys, Will and Grant, in their first few days of life. What precious little angels! I met Erin and her four children under the age of four at their home to photograph the kids in their own environment. Seriously…..SO cute. Unfortunately, Dad was out of town, but we were still able to get some seriously sweet pics of all the kiddos with Mom. Grandmother and Great-Grandmother were there to assist with fussiness, but there was none to be had! The boys were absolutely precious: sleeping when we wanted them to sleep, and looking when we wanted them to look. Let me know what you think about this adorable little fam!

Reese {Los Colinas Newborn Photographer}

Please take a moment to look at this beautiful in-home newborn and family session in Los Colinas with sweet little Reese the girl and her precious parents. You might recognize them from their recent maternity shoot in Grapevine. We had such a hard time getting little lady to go to sleep! She was wide awake and completely aware of her first photo shoot. What a gal! This sweet one had so much hair….and check out her incredibly blue eyes. It was such a pleasure to be able to capture sweet little girl Reese when she was still brand new to the world. VanWinkle family {Cleburne Family Photographer}

Cuteness on the blog! This little sweet guy was such a treat! I met the VanWinkles at a home in Cleburne to take some Christmasy pictures of the family with their six-month-old little boy. What a smiler! We also wanted to capture a few that could be hung up in their home when Christmas was over, so we got to work posing a few vintage animals with baby boy. I absolutely loved this sweet session. Those cheeks are to die for! Let me know what you think of the VanWinkles and their smiley boy!

Holyoak family {McKinney Family Photographer}

I met this lovely family in downtown McKinney for their photo session a few weeks ago. What a great looking bunch! They seriously looked like they had all just stepped out of a J. Crew catalog photo shoot. If you’re ever needing inspiration for what to wear for your family’s session, look no further. This sweet little family had that in the bag! I love how their colors coordinated but weren’t too matchy matchy. Everything was very understated, yet perfect! Anyway, their two little ones were just dolls the whole time. I loved this session because you can almost hear their laughter through the images. A real joy radiated from this fam, and I’m so glad I had the opportunity to capture them! Stone Family {Cleburne Family Photographer}

I was delighted to be able to capture this mom and two of her children on a wet cold day in Cleburne, Texas. Making lemonade from lemons, we handled the weather by using a ton of creativity and some hot chocolate to keep warm! There was a steady rain pouring throughout the morning, but that didn’t stop us from getting some real jewels from this photo session. I had the opportunity to take Camden’s newborn pictures after he had just left the hospital. They were unlike any that I’d taken before because Camden is a real miracle! He was born when his mother was twenty-five weeks along. Many prayers were said for this little guy. You can see what a blessing he has become to his family! He’s just now turning two years old, so his mom scheduled this photo session for his birthday. Camden and big sister Emma were just as sweet as they could be braving the cold like little troopers. Devin {Lewisville senior photographer}

Check out this classy senior from Coppell! Devin attends Faith Christian Academy where she will graduate in the spring. I met Devin and her mother out at Central Park in Lewisville to start her photo session. What a beautiful lady! Devin looked awesome in her vintage styled apparel. Isn’t her bomber jacket amazing? I just adored all of her outfit choices. I absolutely loved the laid back feel of this shoot. Devin was a dream to work with. Seriously. SUPER photogenic! After we spent a little time at the park, we shifted the look to urban downtown Lewisville. It was pretty cold and actually started raining during the shoot! Devin was such a trooper and braved the weather as we finished up the session. Let me know what you think of this awesome senior and her CRAZY beautiful eyes…and you know how much I love comments!

Cox Family {Searcy family photographer}

Tim and Erin are dear friends of mine, and I was so excited to get to capture their growing family. I absolutely loved the way this session in urban downtown Searcy turned out! Even though it was pretty cold, we still managed to get several warm smiles from their two little cuties. All the texture and color in this downtown setting proved to be an awesome backdrop for their photo session. Please give them some love and let them know how cute their little family looks! Tim and Erin – it was a pleasure to be able to capture your family and get to spend some time with you guys! I think Sully really enjoyed sharing his toys with Vera. Sidebar: Tim is the one who recently helped Barefeet to rebrand. I’ve gotten so many compliments over the way our new logo turned out, all thanks to Tim!

Molly Mae {Haslet Newborn Photography}

Tiny miss Molly Mae graced the world with her presence a few weeks ago, and what a sweet little blessing she is already! You might remember her birth photography I posted earlier in October. I joined the Lewis family at their home and captured the family enjoying one of Molly’s first days at home. What perfect little feet! I just love baby feet. Molly was wide awake for most of the shoot which made her slightly difficult to “pose.” She fell asleep for about five minutes while we took a few pictures with just mom and dad.
